Genesis 3- The Serpent Appears

Genesis 3
The serpent appears!
Have you ever truly examined the conversation between Eve and the serpent? It tells you exactly how sin deals with us!
We first see Satan challenging Eve and her memory of what God said, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
For Christians, this is how temptation starts sometimes. Satan says. “Does it really say in the bible that you can’t do that? Where did you read it at?”

Sin comes to you twisting truth ALREADY knowing what your weaknesses are… Then we entertain the enemy, the sin, by having a conversation with it…when we already know its wrong!
“And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”
She quoted scripture, but she quoted it incorrectly adding to the word of God.
Here is what God actually said 2:17 “but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

God never mentioned anything about touching the fruit.
Actually God gave the command to Adam, Eve wasn’t even created yet. So perhaps Adam miscommunicated the information wrong??? Did Adam add, “Don’t touch it either!”

Then the serpent adds a little more “You will not surely die. 5 “For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
As you read on through the story of Adam and Eve, you can see how sin tempted and betrayed through emotions…the desire to be like God…the misrepresentation of thinking that we know what is sinful and what isn’t. The serpent didn’t hand the fruit to Eve, he simply connived and convinced her through emotions and words. Causing her to mess her own self up!!!

Similar to what sin still does today….preying on the emotions and desires of our flesh. Causing us to totally disregard what we know and what the word of God says~
It’s so important for us to reach and teach the truth of God’s word….don’t add to it. How do we know the truth? By being in the word and studying it for ourselves! So there will be no miscommunication about what God tells us to do.
But the great part is that we all have forgiveness through Jesus Christ, and it’s free, all you have to do is ask.

Whats your take on Genesis 3?
