Day 30: Moving Forward and Trusting God

th

You did it! It takes 30 days to form a new habit. During the past 30 days, you began the transformation of a new habit of seeking God, processing truth and finding ways to lie out God’s Word. You also practiced dying to self by choosing the right things-ways of doing life that are biblical but might be uncomfortable.

Our best fullest life becomes ours as we focus not on self but on Christ and his ways for us. It is amazing how making this change, even for a day can make a huge difference in attitude and action. But as you move forward, you can be certain of one thing: there is an enemy lurking about trying to rob you of your faith. You must purchase a security system and install it on your life! The security system is Joy. To install it, you must remove your previous system of fear, worry and doubt. Once you change service providers, your life will be safer, more peaceful and fuller. You have to make a decision to change. The offer is always open…but you have to choose the new provider.

When we do something repeatedly, it becomes a habit. When a habit is done repeatedly and well and is producing something good, it becomes the art in which we live.

Develop the at of looking up. Make a habit of intentionally choosing your focus on Jesus Christ. Focus on who He is, how faithful e is, who you are in Him. Surrender to His plan…always look up!

Your life is no longer your own. Your life is not random, it is hidden in Christ. You are protected, shielded, cared for, provided for…all by Christ!. You are covered by his faithfulness and power. To look up, focus your attention on what is biblically true rather than on what you are feeling..

In moments of stress, pain or doubt…stop. Choose instead to tell yourself what is true about you, your life in Christ and God’s love and faithfulness. Take a new position, stand firm in who Christ is and who you are to him. Look up! Look to Him! Choose to believe.

Start a new morning habit. When you look at yourself in the mirror, thank God for the truth. Say to him ‘Thank your Lord, that I am alive in YOU! Thank you for the gift o salvation. I am your work and you have prepared good works for me to do today, as I live to honor you!”

Do not give up! Do not allow discouragement to have its way in your life, fight it with biblical truth! Set your focus on faith in God!  Thank God that his grace renews you daily! Refuse to lose heart. Instead always focus on truth and look up!

Today is a new day of basic faith, one truth at a time, one choice at a time and one day at a time!

I pray that you enjoyed the 30 Day Faith Dare and that you experience God’s Love and Presence on the Journey Of Life! I pray you learn to challenge yourself daily! Trusting God with your very life and following his profound truth!

His word works! We just have to apply it!

Be Blessed!

Day 28: Dare To Seek Another’s Best

4115-whenweseektodiscovertheb

Less of me and more of you  God! We have all prayed this prayer at some point in time. But when God really starts to answer this prayer, it can be trying! Praying for less of me is in essence praying for the stripping of self. The type of stripping that can leave one vulnerable and naked!

A stripping of selfishness seems to hit most in our relationships with other people. God created us for relationship, so it makes sense that he strips us and changes us the most while we are in relationships. It would be easy to follow the way of love, if we lived in a cave by ourself…however the majority of us don’t. We live surrounded by people…people who test our patience daily

People who hurt us, push our buttons…real life…real relationships…real people. We need a real God and the power of his love. We all have people in our lives who don’t like us…some may even hate us. People who feel like we are an enemy…so what are we to do, when we are confronted with those people and their feelings towards us?

Love them…do good to them…bless them. Speak kindly of them and to them. Pray for them. Speak to The Father about them. Give to them, sow seeds of kindness

Today’s Dare: Is there someone in your life who keeps hurting you? What would turning the other cheek look like in that relationship. Today practice speaking kindly and speaking words that will bless others. Pray for those who have hurt you and ask God to bless them. Find something good you can do for someone who hurt you. Imagine the kindness person you know and duplicate that kindness!

Prayer: Lord teach me to live in you in such a way as to lose myself in your love, your way, your life. I desire to follow you, paying attention to your words!

Let the law and love of kindness spring forth today!

Day 27:Dare To Be Generous In Love and Practical Kindness

319496

Mediate on Luke 6:38, Galatians 6:7, 9-10

Life is filled with ordinary days. Most people go about their day, doing their own thing and minding their own business. But there are some people who think of ways to bless others every day. Many live out their faith by finding practical solutions to help friends and neighbors in need. God calls us to this kind of kindness, this special type of love for our fellow man

Its often easy to think about grand ideas of love, grace and forgiveness and even giving. However actual thoughts not manifested are simply that.

We are to be conformed into his image as givers, generous with our time, hearts, money, concern, and everything else that makes up life. We should embrace specific principles that can help us think more of others..

Giving is a biblical principle

The way we give will be measured back to us. When we give in good measure, we receive back more than we give. We reap what we sow in relationships. We must keep focused on loving others, giving freely and doing good. Do not grow weary. Every opportunity to do good is a God sized opportunity.

Today’s Dare: Make a list of the people God has placed in your life-relatives, neighbors, co-workers, church members etc. Who on that list is going through something and needs to blessed by love? What practical things would meet their need? How can you gather resources to help them? Think of an act of kindness that blessed you in the past…why? reciprocate that act to someone else today

Prayer: Forgive me for focusing on my own needs more than on the needs of others. Open my eyes and my heart to needs around me and give me a willingness to do what I can to love others in practical ways. Make me a giver and give me a generous heart and spirit!

Amen

Dare 26: Dare To Walk In Humility and Grace

th9v1h8w1g

Meditate on Romans 8:5, Philippians 2:5-8, 1 Peter 5:5-7

Have you ever known or encountered and arrogant person? What kind of effect did their attitude have on you? If people matter to God, its no wonder we are instructed to  put others before ourselves, humbling ourselves in the process. For many, this kind of living is unheard of…putting others above ourselves is unheard of.

God has a better way. Humility involves shadowing the life and nature of Christ. We need a humble heart if we are going to live in love towards others and if we are interested in honoring Christ.

God opposes us when we walk in pride. We should all desire a relationship of grace, intimacy, and connectedness. For that to happen, we must humble ourselves.

Humility does not mean lying down on the ground while everyone walks over you. Humility is a life submitted to God. Humility is saying to our Father, “You are God and I am not!” Walking in humility towards others is not that difficult to understand, it is simply putting them first.

But it can be hard, because we are selfish by human nature. But part of the Faith Dare is allowing God to shape us according to the new spiritual nature we have inherited in Christ. That nature is humble and loving. Christ gave us the true example of humility…by dying for people who didn’t care, still in their sins and so undeserving!

This is the attitude we should carry through life. Rather than feeling entitled to receive, we need to be free to give. When you have humbled yourself and place your cares in God’s hands, you have more space in your mind and heart to humbly love more people!

Today’s Dare: Humble yourself in attitude and action. If you have the opportunity today to overlook and offense…do so. Think of ways you can be more flexible and less demanding. Challenge yourself to get out of self and look for the needs of others. Listen to the opinions of others before inserting your own

Prayer: Lord teach me your way! Show me how to walk as you walked, love as you loved, live as you lived…humbly obedient and yielded. Help me be self controlled and alert.

Amen!

Day 19: Dare to live As An Overcomer

d477cda2a4fddd629d46d163e80401e7

Meditate on John 16:33, Romans 12:21, 1 John 5:4

When living under the problem of the day, we will often find ourselves crushed by the weight of circumstances. With our focus off our faithful God, we move into a place of living under the problem and the weight of the emotion associated with it. This results in a mix of anxieties

It is not Gods best for you to live UNDER anything. We all will go through things in life, but we are never to be under them.

Its easy to be consumed by the conflict. When we focus on self we begin to live under it rather than being and overcomer through faith in Christ. In order to live above the circumstance, stay out of the funk and keep your eyes on Jesus.

God gives us many opportunities to practice walking out our faith and establish our belief through our circumstances. Chose today to be positive and to walk in the faith that God knows you and loves you

Today’s Dare: Have a positive stance regarding your current problem . Focus your eyes on Jesus and your faith on Him. Do not focus on what you feel in the middle of the situation. Find ways to live over and not under. Find something good you can do just for today that will enable you to overcome the negative and give you a positive to think about.

Prayer: Father it is so easy for me to settle down under my problem, without even thinking about your power to help me rise above. Help my unbelief and teach me how to be an overcomer in you!

Its already done!

Day 17: Dare To Live In The Miracle of Who You Are

c64c646bf5b52d70f27aba133e8260d0

By the grace of God I am what I am- Corinthians 15:10

We have all been to the fair and seen the contorted mirrors, the ones that distort our view…they can be pretty scary, but we know its all fun. However, the real mirrors of our lives can often be just as scary. The distorted views and images that we carry around with us…of ourselves. It warps our view about who we are. Rather than seeing the miracle that God created, we see a distorted and shameful woman who is not perfect and ashamed of her imperfections.

From the time we are a young girl, we want to know  “Who am I, Why am I here, Where am I going?” As we grow up , we long for significance, appreciation, acceptance and love. We wonder constantly if our lives have meaning and purpose. Too many of us spend our lives trying to get better at being ourselves instead of what God has called us to be. Some of us never get a full understanding of who we are at the core level, so we stay in constant search mode. It is then, that you must plant yourself in the center of God’s word

Psalm 139: 13-16

2 Corinthians 5:16-17

We often look at ourselves through our mistakes. God looks at us and sees our purpose and the miracle of himself in us. You do not have to have a title of always be doing something of significance…significance comes from just being somebody. You are already a wonderful women, created by God for his purpose!

Today’s Dare: When you look in the mirror, see God’s daughter staring back at you. Get out a childhood picture of yourself and put it somewhere prominent. Make it your Facebook profile. Each time you see it, remind yourself that although you were born in this world…you are not of it!. You have been reborn into a spiritual reality. You are no longer who you once were!

God is determining your days…you are headed some where!

Prayer: Lord , help me to stay connected to you..to the truth…that you live in me. I am set apart, so that wherever I am, you can do your will through me. Your word is living and active and planted within me. Help me live in the miracle of who I am!

God Morning My Beautiful Friend! You are one gorgeous person!

Stephanie

Day 16: Dare To Choose Whom You Will Serve and the Direction You Will Take

th

Meditate on Romans 8: 28-29, Hebrews 12:1-2, 5-7, 10-13

Sometimes I dare to sing in the midst of my storms! I push myself to be confident enough in Christ’s care and love for me that in midst of trials and tribulations I just start to sing…an old baptist hymn…one from my childhood…one that reminds me that His grace is still sufficient for me!

You see not everything that happens in our life is good, but regardless of what happens, God is still working in it. If we look to him, we will find the strength for the hard times and patience in the daily things and JOY IN ALL THINGS!

Its easy to do right and say we are faith driven, when things are going well. But when someone irks our nerves, our children upset us or our job overwhelms us…do you still find joy in those situations? When bad things happen, everything we believe in is tested. Our surrender to a good God is threatened by the things we cant understand, fix, or control. Yet the nature of surrender is to let go and let God have everything that concerns us. We have to believe at the very core of us, that no matter what we are in God’s hands.

We are halfway through the September Faith Dare and I pray that daily, you have challenged yourself to believe in the bigger picture that God has for you and your life.

The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness, all of our sufferings, trials, and hardships are working together for our good. All of us have a path, a race and route to get to where God wants us to be. In the moment there maybe pain…but eventually comes the peace

Today’s Dare: Focus your eyes and attention on Jesus and put your trust in him in the midst of pain. Believe that this pain will produce righteousness in your life in practical ways. It is working to make you the person that God wants. Dare to choose the bigger picture. Stay focused on the plan that God has for your life

Prayer: Father, yes I am often weak and emotionally. Change me! Give me the courage to fix my attention on the bigger picture, the greater good and on you Jesus. I want to be conformed to your image. Give me the grace to endure whatever it is that is taking me there!

God is worthy to be praised daily! Have you given him your first fruits this morning?

Stephanie

Day 14: Dare To Believe You Are Not Enough In Yourself

th

Meditate on 2 Corinthians 3:4-6, 3:12 and 3:17-18

The words “Not enough” can haunt us for a lifetime! Some of us live with that mantra all of all lives. We strive to always be more than enough…more of who we are…more of what others perceive us as.

Many Christian women have it worst, because we always trying to be perfect in a world than constantly places us under a magnifying class. As long as we are trying to be enough, we will always be about self instead of God.

Insecurities keep us at arm’s distance from others and from God. We often distance ourselves without even realizing it, believing that we can never measure up. Some women quit trying to be all that God has dared us to be and all that he has planned us to be. When this happens the enemy has won!. He celebrates and we suffer. Once was a light of hope in the promise of Christ has been reduced to a dependence of self to try to make ourselves good enough.

We can not do it on our own…it is not God’s plan for us. He never created us to be enough. He wants us to know that we are enough- because of him and his life in us!

Its time to quit stressing and look to God. He is enough for us in ALL THINGS. His spirit , which is powerful within us, changes us and transforms us from a woman of self focus and insecurity to a God focus woman with confidence.

The word competent means good, worthy, sufficient, adequate, or enough..so all though we may not not be all these of ourselves…WITH GOD, we can totally rely on Him and look to Him for everything!

God is our letter of recommendation, and he is forever writing our story

Today’s Dare: Think on this question

If I believed I am enough because Christ lives in me and makes me enough… How would I view myself differently? Would I live a different kind of life? What risks would I take? Would I be less afraid and more daring to follow Christ? Would I quit putting myself down?

Prayer: Lord deliver me from self focus and insecurity. I want to understand the significance of your life within me. I want to be changed into your likeness and to live in confidence that in you. I am enough for anything and everything you have mapped out for my life!

Dare to believe today, refuse any negative talk and thought for the next 24 hours. Be as kind to yourself as Christ is to you!

I dare you, because YOU ARE ENOUGH!

Stephanie

Day 8:Dare To Plug Into The Power Source

ba18f405c3fd87e2a07cc5d2e8e8f00c

Meditate on John 15:4-5, 7-8, 11      1 John 2:27

Did you get that Power Source yesterday? Now are you PLUGGED IN? We are familiar with so many items around our home that can be used for specific purposes. Our televisions are there to entertain us. Our hair dryers dry our hair, our refrigerators keep our food cool…but here is the kicker…in order for them to work properly and do what they are made specifically to do…they must be plugged in!

The same is true for us. God designed us for a specific purpose. God wants to work through us. Even though many times, we may feel like we are so underserving of his love, yet He so freely gives it. And we are unable to do this Christ walk in our own strength…so God provides that power. What God intends for us spiritually, cannot take place unless we are plugged into the biggest outlet of power

A branch cannot bear fruit apart from the vine, anymore than any item that runs on electricity can do without being plugged in. Jesus said we are like the branches attached to the vine (Christ, our power source). When we are not connected, we have no power and bear no fruit. However when we are connected, all things are possible in and through us!

When you are connected, your life is filled with the very things you need and desire…love, joy…peace…patience…courage…strength…faith…the list goes on and on…

Connect to God through prayer, through his word, through fellowship and through obedience. We can not please God and walk in the fullness that He wants for our lives without staying connected to him.

My favorite time of connecting with God is early in the morning! The 5 am hour brings such a calmness to my spirit, and the rest of the world seems quiet. I can truly connect to God and hear all he has to say to me.

Today’s Dare: Plug into your power source today. Get away from everything and everyone for a couple of moments and just pray before God. Ask to be cleansed from your sin and filled with the Holy Spirit. Read the scriptures listed out loud, let each word resonate in your spirit. Dare to step out your comfort zone and experience Gods power everyday. Make time, find the moment of the day that works for you

Prayer: Father be my power, the rhythm of my life, the cadence of my steps. Live in me, work through me, have your way in my life today, tomorrow, next week, next month, next year…forever more! I desire to remain in you and be fully connected by your power, presence and love.

Get plugged in today…and stay there!

Day 4: Dare to Live Like You Belong To God

th

Meditate on Psalm 100:1-3, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Do you remember that day you accepted the Jesus? I do! At the age of 13, I casually strolled down the aisle at my church for altar call. I made a conscious decision that I wanted to be saved. Afterwards, my mother laid hands on me in my bedroom and I received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, evidenced by speaking in tongues

My life changed forever from that moment. I can still remember and feel the emotional change that filled my heart! I was on fire for God! I was consumed with telling people about God, at that young age!    Over the years, the fire subsided, yet I often challenge myself to go back to that time in my life, when I was truly on fire for Christ!

When we make that decision to follow Christ, we belong to HIM. We no longer belong to the world. Our body becomes a temple of the Holy Spirit! Temple is described as a place or a house of worship. Our body is a temple where the Holy Spirit dwells, we are dedicated for a special purpose! We are set apart as Gods children!

Wow if we really took the “temple” thing seriously, would we still act the same? Would we speak the same words? How would we view our bodies? Would we eat the same? Would we allow ourselves to get caught up in abusive relationships?

Its time we took this “temple” thing seriously! Because everything else is secondary to to God..our careers, our families, our jobs. We need to live in the truth in who we are to him.  When we recognize exactly who we are in Christ and what we mean to him…our lives really begin to reflect that. We treat ourselves and others differently!

We have to recognize that following Christ, requires us to die to self daily!

Today’s dare: Truly recognize what the scripture says about you and your life. Begin to live differently in response to this truth! Remind yourself daily! I am new, I am in Christ, I am his temple, I do not belong to myself, I belong to God!

Prayer: Lord throughout my ups and downs, help me to stay connected to the truth that you live in me daily. You set me apart so you can do your will through me! Help me to take your active word and plant it in my heart. Help me remember that I belong to you Lord!

You are a new …whole…complete..walk in it!

Stephanie
