The Enlightened Woman..

My sister Sadie Collier shares “Enlightened Woman!” Grasp the concept and walk in it wholeheartedly. Allowing the woes of life to fall to your feet. Thank you my talented sister for lending your voice!

The Enlightened Woman
Today I am the enlightened woman! No longer do I have to hibernate in every season , ducking and dodging from life’s woes, and all the drama it use to bring to my door step. I am the enlightened woman, done shivering from winter icicles that use to form around my heart. This enlightenment has given me a reason to embrace my spring blossoms that bring about change, let me dance with my own shadow if no one else is willing to twirl me in the sunlight. I am the enlightened woman, no longer chained to pink slavery, but draping myself in brilliant silks of purple and gold.

I embrace my enlightenment because it reminds me of an African basket weaver. With fingers I skillfully and diligently weave words of love and empowerment into my soul. I weave words like rain drops falling in clear puddles that look like raw diamonds folded in satin and lace. I am enlightened because I am the silent whirlwind that quickly make branches shake and leaves dance, but I can still stand on my feet, not wavering from the gust of winds that blow around my ankles and my knees.  I have learned how to place my hands on my hips, bend my back and flow with every breeze.

Enlightened, because I no longer stand on stage waiting for the queue, lights camera action! I direct this movie now, God and me, I have the starring role, I am the leading lady in the movie I call life. This was my awakening, my breaking dawn, when I finally realized I am the sweetest expressions of God. Every fiber of my womanhood that speaks volumes to life itself. Why wait on others to define who and what I am? I have already been told and it is written that I was made and not created. I am made from fine fabrics of colorful hues sewn with the daintiest needle made of bone china. Enlightened to know that I am beautiful, even if my hair is gray and my laugh lines show.

I am the enlightened woman because I stand in a field of sunflowers chasing dragonflies and listening to hummingbirds hum. Not the negativity of words that drug me down into low valleys, and up mud laden hills. I use to carry bag after bag of issues and troubles, worries and woes, overcrowded luggage that was not mine. I use to have to learn how to dance in the rain, so my tears and pain would blend in with every drop.

You can be the enlightened woman who kisses rainbows because it is the promise of God. Living your life on the back splash of colors that says look at me I have arrived, not burdened down with the worlds weight on your shoulders. Know that you were born into acceptance before he knew you in your mother’s womb. Enlightened woman, because hips and curves does not define you, the enlightened woman. But your measure and your worth, every letter of the alphabet can describe you, from amazing to zealous; you are the affirmations of life that breath harmony and peace into hearts, when bricks are thrown… you build houses.

You, the enlightened woman, wear no price tag for the cost of all that you give of yourself to others, hoping that someone will give back in return. Hand made by a master with every thought of what essences he would use, every breath and depth of you, from sun-kissed cheeks to healing fingertips. Your worth is more valuable than all the riches diamond mines can produce. No more tears that form like icicles because of brokenness, and shattered dreams that look like broken shards of a mirror that you once stared into, looking at pieces of yourself you did not recognize. Gaze, enlightened woman, at the beauty of yourself, not at the woman that others want you to be. Laugh at those who view you through rose-colored shades, or those who hide behind trees hoping to catch a glimpse of you falling. Sing to those with covered ears ignoring the words of wisdom that you say, tell it, say it. the enlightened woman speaks. You, the enlightened woman, leaving tracks you have blazed for others coming after you. Shoulders back, head up, it’s okay to point your nose towards heaven, because you pay homage to the father who made you. Dance as hard as you breathe, laugh as much as you love, you are the star of your life’s documentary.

Enlightened woman release your fragrance in the atmosphere. Let your scent be exhilarating to those that you encounter, leave a savor instead of an odor. Let your aura light darkened path ways, that seem un-crossable.
Enlightened woman never give all of you, but keep some for yourself. Keep her as you keep, vows and promises and treasures, locked away in your heart, with only God having the key. Keep the hope of whispered dreams alive. Live as if tomorrow is your only friend. Dance on moon beams and slide down rainbows into pools of empowerment and inspiration. Give the gift of you to you, asking for nothing in return, but to live in happiness, joy and laughter. Owe no explanation of your womanhood to none, because only you can define you enlightened woman. Be that cool drink to those who live in the deserts of thirsty knowledge. Run to the middle of your destiny… fly to the center of your hope. Life awaits you there, possibilities, and capabilities that lay dormant inside of your woman’s abode.

Enlightened woman, soar among the eagles, spread your wings, keep company with bluebirds that harmonize about the freedom they share. Take note of your amazing skin and how it stretches across strong bones and a heart that carries thoughts and memories. Enlightened woman let me encourage you in your struggle, your tears and your trials. Let the essence of who you are, speak for you, let your words be the bloodline for those who look to you for encouragement.
Stand in the sunshine enlightened woman, stretch forth your arms and receive God’s wind kissed breath as it blows your way. As it blows blessings, laughter and happiness towards you. You are amazing, and radiant, enlightened sisters of mine.

Cherish the greatest gift that was given… your LIFE!  YOU…… are WORTH………everything! YOUR ……PURPOSE…… MATTERS!  Command your day, command the energy that surrounds you. Just know Identity is not what you promise others, but what you promise yourself.  Your name was chosen by God himself… WOMAN……….. ENLIGTENED………

Let others gasp at the beauty they see in you, the scent of enlightened woman that you leave behind when you exit a room. Enlightened woman,  from one to another , YOU…. Are AMAZING!

Making things fit…

So as January comes to 63751_300687083367649_308403075_na close, I am thinking about the remainder of the year and what it holds for me. January has been a little rough, I have lost more than I have found within these first 31 days of the year.  Although I have gained a new sense of independence and a new attitude on life, I have lost some “love.” Friends and family that were dear to me have transisitioned…..and even some people who I was vaguely familiar with, have departed this life.  It puts the years into perspective for me. The time I have spent doing what I love compared to what I felt compelled to do. After weighing the pros and cons, I have realized the vast majority of my life was spent enjoying a laugh or two, taking chances and living life to the fullest.  My desire is that I continue to breathe joy into every moment that awaits me in 2013. I want to leave a legacy of “feel good” to people who knew me. I pray that each time they think of me, they think of something that I did or said that made their life just a little more enjoyable

This past weekend, I was privileged to help women write the vision and make it plain. We came together and did a “vision board.” It was a fun, inspirational time of putting our goals into a  collage of pictures and quotes that would remind us daily of what we want to accomplish for the year. The laughter amidst like-minded sisters was awesome! The spirit of accomplishment was evident as each picture, quote and tiny star was glued and pressed into place…sort of like our lives. Yet their determination to move pictures around and rearrange things to fit, was something that we do not do.  We don’t spend a lot of time making things of importance fit.  You see too often, we don’t rearrange our time or schedule to accommodate what we really want to accomplish! We go through life doing what we feel forced or compelled to complete, the unimportant stuff that becomes our priority.  We  let life make us and yet we neglect to make a life.  Settled into complacency and going through a set mundane rut… i.e daily jobs, taking care of family and the rest.  Wouldnt it be awesome, if we looked at each day like a vision board, making sure that each activity or event we really want to accomplish is inserted….somewhere?

As January takes its final lap, I challenge you to do something you have never done before this year! Rearrange some things! Make the important things fit, the moments that will make  life special. Dream more, dance harder and laugh a lot!

Each sunset is one day closer to our eternal destiny….and I want to arrive at mine sliding down a sliding board, with a drink in hand shouting “WOOOOOHOOOO!! IM HOME!”

Peace, Love & Empowerment!
