Day 17: Dare To Live In The Miracle of Who You Are

c64c646bf5b52d70f27aba133e8260d0

By the grace of God I am what I am- Corinthians 15:10

We have all been to the fair and seen the contorted mirrors, the ones that distort our view…they can be pretty scary, but we know its all fun. However, the real mirrors of our lives can often be just as scary. The distorted views and images that we carry around with us…of ourselves. It warps our view about who we are. Rather than seeing the miracle that God created, we see a distorted and shameful woman who is not perfect and ashamed of her imperfections.

From the time we are a young girl, we want to know  “Who am I, Why am I here, Where am I going?” As we grow up , we long for significance, appreciation, acceptance and love. We wonder constantly if our lives have meaning and purpose. Too many of us spend our lives trying to get better at being ourselves instead of what God has called us to be. Some of us never get a full understanding of who we are at the core level, so we stay in constant search mode. It is then, that you must plant yourself in the center of God’s word

Psalm 139: 13-16

2 Corinthians 5:16-17

We often look at ourselves through our mistakes. God looks at us and sees our purpose and the miracle of himself in us. You do not have to have a title of always be doing something of significance…significance comes from just being somebody. You are already a wonderful women, created by God for his purpose!

Today’s Dare: When you look in the mirror, see God’s daughter staring back at you. Get out a childhood picture of yourself and put it somewhere prominent. Make it your Facebook profile. Each time you see it, remind yourself that although you were born in this world…you are not of it!. You have been reborn into a spiritual reality. You are no longer who you once were!

God is determining your days…you are headed some where!

Prayer: Lord , help me to stay connected to you..to the truth…that you live in me. I am set apart, so that wherever I am, you can do your will through me. Your word is living and active and planted within me. Help me live in the miracle of who I am!

God Morning My Beautiful Friend! You are one gorgeous person!

Day 16: Dare To Choose Whom You Will Serve and the Direction You Will Take

th

Meditate on Romans 8: 28-29, Hebrews 12:1-2, 5-7, 10-13

Sometimes I dare to sing in the midst of my storms! I push myself to be confident enough in Christ’s care and love for me that in midst of trials and tribulations I just start to sing…an old baptist hymn…one from my childhood…one that reminds me that His grace is still sufficient for me!

You see not everything that happens in our life is good, but regardless of what happens, God is still working in it. If we look to him, we will find the strength for the hard times and patience in the daily things and JOY IN ALL THINGS!

Its easy to do right and say we are faith driven, when things are going well. But when someone irks our nerves, our children upset us or our job overwhelms us…do you still find joy in those situations? When bad things happen, everything we believe in is tested. Our surrender to a good God is threatened by the things we cant understand, fix, or control. Yet the nature of surrender is to let go and let God have everything that concerns us. We have to believe at the very core of us, that no matter what we are in God’s hands.

We are halfway through the September Faith Dare and I pray that daily, you have challenged yourself to believe in the bigger picture that God has for you and your life.

The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness, all of our sufferings, trials, and hardships are working together for our good. All of us have a path, a race and route to get to where God wants us to be. In the moment there maybe pain…but eventually comes the peace

Today’s Dare: Focus your eyes and attention on Jesus and put your trust in him in the midst of pain. Believe that this pain will produce righteousness in your life in practical ways. It is working to make you the person that God wants. Dare to choose the bigger picture. Stay focused on the plan that God has for your life

Prayer: Father, yes I am often weak and emotionally. Change me! Give me the courage to fix my attention on the bigger picture, the greater good and on you Jesus. I want to be conformed to your image. Give me the grace to endure whatever it is that is taking me there!

God is worthy to be praised daily! Have you given him your first fruits this morning?

Day 15: Dare To Believe You Are Complete In God!

daafc3560fc0f001a3c5202e9feae577

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom  2 Corinthians 3:17

As women, we all long to hear the words “You complete Me”. It totally melts our heart. We all want to be loved, searching for that person or those people who will complete us, make us whole.

But what if we believed it is Christ who completes us? Or that we actually are complete because of Christ in us and his work for us? This love is really what makes us balanced, centered, secure and yes COMPLETE!

If we truly believed that we are complete in Christ, we would stop our search for something more or some one more. Many of the single women I know, would not spend endless nights in desire or lust for a warm body, because their wait would be a time of preparation!

There truly is freedom in embracing the truth that all we are and all we will ever be is now hidden in Christ and constructed by the power of Christ’s work in us. Yesterday we studied that fact, that we are perfect in Christ and can not do it by ourselves. We wear ourselves out trying to perfect ourselves, but the truth is, in Christ we are made perfect and complete. God does not judge perfection the way we do. Perfect in a Spiritual sense is one who is being completed through maturity, growth and surrender to God.

Wives: You have all that is necessary to love your husbands in a way that is meaningful to him and pleasing to God. Come to Christ daily for a complete filling of all you need for this calling

Mothers: You are complete in Christ. You have already been given all you need to be the Mother that your child/children need. God has a plan for each life you created. You are in partnership with God in developing human lives. This is high calling

In the Workplace: You have all that you need to get along with people, live in integrity and be a light! You are made complete for the all the tasks at hand. God put you right where you are, trust him to give you success in your line of work and to work through you

In Ministry: You have to claim your competence and completion in Christ. You are a Jesus follower and a difference maker because of God. Seek him daily to be filled with his power. God makes you whole, complete and ever ready for what he calls you to be.

All of life is ministry, so all of us, regardless of what we do daily, whatever our position, need to be filled daily and ready to live a life of completion by Christs power each day

Today’s Dare: Dare to see Christ in yourself and the way you view yourself and others will change. Pray for family members who are not a Christian…view them as complete in Christ. Ask God to show them to truth..ask God to show you the truth as to who you are in Christ!

Prayer: Father work your truth in me. By faith I thank you that I am enough, competent, adequate , and sufficient for all you have called me to be, because YOU COMPLETE ME!

I cant wait for the manifestation of the work that God is about to do in your life!

Stephanie

Day 14: Dare To Believe You Are Not Enough In Yourself

th

Meditate on 2 Corinthians 3:4-6, 3:12 and 3:17-18

The words “Not enough” can haunt us for a lifetime! Some of us live with that mantra all of all lives. We strive to always be more than enough…more of who we are…more of what others perceive us as.

Many Christian women have it worst, because we always trying to be perfect in a world than constantly places us under a magnifying class. As long as we are trying to be enough, we will always be about self instead of God.

Insecurities keep us at arm’s distance from others and from God. We often distance ourselves without even realizing it, believing that we can never measure up. Some women quit trying to be all that God has dared us to be and all that he has planned us to be. When this happens the enemy has won!. He celebrates and we suffer. Once was a light of hope in the promise of Christ has been reduced to a dependence of self to try to make ourselves good enough.

We can not do it on our own…it is not God’s plan for us. He never created us to be enough. He wants us to know that we are enough- because of him and his life in us!

Its time to quit stressing and look to God. He is enough for us in ALL THINGS. His spirit , which is powerful within us, changes us and transforms us from a woman of self focus and insecurity to a God focus woman with confidence.

The word competent means good, worthy, sufficient, adequate, or enough..so all though we may not not be all these of ourselves…WITH GOD, we can totally rely on Him and look to Him for everything!

God is our letter of recommendation, and he is forever writing our story

Today’s Dare: Think on this question

If I believed I am enough because Christ lives in me and makes me enough… How would I view myself differently? Would I live a different kind of life? What risks would I take? Would I be less afraid and more daring to follow Christ? Would I quit putting myself down?

Prayer: Lord deliver me from self focus and insecurity. I want to understand the significance of your life within me. I want to be changed into your likeness and to live in confidence that in you. I am enough for anything and everything you have mapped out for my life!

Dare to believe today, refuse any negative talk and thought for the next 24 hours. Be as kind to yourself as Christ is to you!

I dare you, because YOU ARE ENOUGH!

Day 11: Dare To Live No Longer For Self

today-i-reveal-my-one-word-for-2015-more-as-in-more-of-you-less-of-me-he-must-increase-i-must-decrease-may-love-abound-more-and-mo-jpg

Meditate on Psalm 23:1-6, John 10:10, 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

I no longer live, Christ lives in me!

Sometimes we get a mindset of rebellion, “I’m grown, no one can tell me what to do!”  When we try to protect ourselves, we often put up walls that keep even God’s voice out. We want to do things our way. Yet we were created for something bigger and better than our way. Being in control is a key component in many peoples lives, and when we feel out of control….wooooooooooooooooooooooo

The saints of old leaned towards a a different kind of life. The love of Christ influenced them in such a dramatic way, they no longer desired self interest. They longed for the influence of God.

Lay your self aside, believe that God’s love is powerful enough to protect us, keep us, guide us and move us into everything we will ever need in our lifetime.  When we really start to believe this, we begin to live differently

Jesus said “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry” John 6:35

“I am the good shepherd, the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” John 10:11

“I have come that they  may have life, and have it more abundantly” John 10:10

Full life is not merely a figment of the imagination. Do you really want to be free, to live a different life? Then you must go back to the basics, the essentials of faith and learn what it means to put all your faith in the truths of the scripture

God loves us unconditionally

He wants the best life for us and is always working in our lives!

He will never leave us or forsake us

He is committed to providing for us, caring for us!

He came to give us the best life

…..the promises go on and on and on…..

Isn’t it time to live free?

Today’s Dare: Ask God to show you how you can experience abundance by living differently. Ask God for the grace to live bigger than the smallness of yourself. Thank him today and everyday for the provisions He has already provided! Trust him for strength. Give him the details that are heart your heart today. Praise Him over and over again for being your Good Shepherd!

Prayer: Jesus, I often forget that you are my Good Shepherd. Thank you that you desire to offer mercy, grace and compassion to me. Remind me daily to bring everything before you, because you desire to bring me to a place that is bigger than just me and filled completely with you!

Freedom awaits!

Day 10: Dare To Guard Your Thoughts and Fill Your Mind With Good

the-happiness-of-your-life-depends-upon-the-quality-of-your-thoughts-therefore-guard-accordingly

Psalm 3:3-6, 8, Romans 8:6, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, Philippians 4:8, Colossians 3:2 are the scriptures to meditate on today…

My, my , my ..the peril of negative thinking!

How many times have you had to fight bad thoughts? How many hours a day do you have to shift focus and commit yourself to thinking on good thoughts?

It surely takes a committed focus on God to live differently from the world. The struggle of life can have us thinking we have completely lost our mind!

we must take our thoughts captive. Anytime a negative thought creeps  in, we must seek to destroy it with positive thinking. God’s word is the divine power that can destroy the places in our mind that are held in a stronghold by our own negative thinking, worldly perceptions and the lies from satan himself!

None can control where you dwell mentally but you. Learn to manage your mind, by replacing negative thoughts with positive ones. It can often be like looking for flowers in a field of weeds, but they are there…

Even in the testings that you will endure, your elevation to another level spiritually makes it all worth it.

Today’s Dare: recognize the negative thoughts and practice putting a positive there. Put up barriers of truth so that when negative thoughts come, they cannot penetrate the wall.

Prayer: Father I surrender my mind to you. Teach me how to cast down, tear down and disassemble every thought that does not honor you or your word.

Be at peace mentally on a daily basis

Day 9: Dare to Believe that God Gives Good Gifts To His Children

5205033d29128ec8600e47f10ba20693

Meditate on Psalm 116:1-4, Matthew 7:7-11

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know – Jeremiah 33:3

Too often we go to God about a situation or a circumstance, we pray, we ask, we seek, we knock…and when we do not receive, we become anxious, irritated and distressed. Our conversations with God consist of “why?” and “how?”

May times, we forget that God gives good gifts. God gives bread, not stones. You can rest assured that your prayers have been heard, yet the doors will only be opened, when it is time for you to receive what is behind the door. Keep claiming it and standing on Gods word and wait in anticipation of the “good” thing that you shall receive and at the right time!

Even when you cant see or fathom what you have been praying and standing on, know that the God you serve is GOOD! and what he has in store for you is marvelous!

Its coming! Believe it!

Todays Dare: Truly believe that God has heard your prayer and it is coming in his timing. Begin to thank God for it, even what you can not see manifesting in the physical realm…is truly being manifested in the spiritual realm. If you still have an unanswered prayer, then the good thing is not available yet. Wait on it, too often we are anxious and what we receive maybe what we wanted, but Lord knows its not always GOOD for us….we get a stone…yet we find out too late. Learn to trust God’s timing!

Prayer: Lord give me patience! I choose to trust that doors will be open when you are ready to bless me with all the good that you have for me. I am trusting you in control of my life and every circumstance. I wont fret, I wont worry, I wont get anxious. I will thank you in the waiting season of my life.

That good thing is surely on its way to you!

Day 8:Dare To Plug Into The Power Source

ba18f405c3fd87e2a07cc5d2e8e8f00c

Meditate on John 15:4-5, 7-8, 11      1 John 2:27

Did you get that Power Source yesterday? Now are you PLUGGED IN? We are familiar with so many items around our home that can be used for specific purposes. Our televisions are there to entertain us. Our hair dryers dry our hair, our refrigerators keep our food cool…but here is the kicker…in order for them to work properly and do what they are made specifically to do…they must be plugged in!

The same is true for us. God designed us for a specific purpose. God wants to work through us. Even though many times, we may feel like we are so underserving of his love, yet He so freely gives it. And we are unable to do this Christ walk in our own strength…so God provides that power. What God intends for us spiritually, cannot take place unless we are plugged into the biggest outlet of power

A branch cannot bear fruit apart from the vine, anymore than any item that runs on electricity can do without being plugged in. Jesus said we are like the branches attached to the vine (Christ, our power source). When we are not connected, we have no power and bear no fruit. However when we are connected, all things are possible in and through us!

When you are connected, your life is filled with the very things you need and desire…love, joy…peace…patience…courage…strength…faith…the list goes on and on…

Connect to God through prayer, through his word, through fellowship and through obedience. We can not please God and walk in the fullness that He wants for our lives without staying connected to him.

My favorite time of connecting with God is early in the morning! The 5 am hour brings such a calmness to my spirit, and the rest of the world seems quiet. I can truly connect to God and hear all he has to say to me.

Today’s Dare: Plug into your power source today. Get away from everything and everyone for a couple of moments and just pray before God. Ask to be cleansed from your sin and filled with the Holy Spirit. Read the scriptures listed out loud, let each word resonate in your spirit. Dare to step out your comfort zone and experience Gods power everyday. Make time, find the moment of the day that works for you

Prayer: Father be my power, the rhythm of my life, the cadence of my steps. Live in me, work through me, have your way in my life today, tomorrow, next week, next month, next year…forever more! I desire to remain in you and be fully connected by your power, presence and love.

Get plugged in today…and stay there!

Day 7: Dare to Believe In Gods Power In All Circumstances

our-god-is-greater-our-god-is-stronger-god-you-are-higher-than-any-other-our-god-is-healer-awesome-in-power-our-god-our-god

Meditate on John 15:16, Corinthians 5:20, Ephesians 1:18-20, Ephesians 2:10

There is Power in the name of Jesus! There is Power in the name of Jesus!

To Break Every Chain…break every chain….break every chain!

Power is an amazing thing in our lives, our homes…without it we would not have much. Remember the last time , the electricity in your home went out? It can be a hopeless situation for us…we feel lost!

The same is true about Gods power, we should feel lost without it, yet we take it for granted because we cant see it. You see in our homes, when we have lost power, we can see it immediately! To be honest, when we have lost God’s power in our lives, you can see it immediately as well. Nothing happens for us, we are lost and miserable, when actually we are just not plugged into our own power source!

Do you operate in the power that HAS ALREADY BEEN given to you? We don’t have to wait on anyone to give it to us…we just have to begin to utilize the power source. It never turns off, it doesn’t get knocked out by a storm! We spend way too much time trying to operate through our own power instead of the source of God in our lives. It fatigues us, we become exhausted…

We all have had our moments! Not realizing that we just need a boost from the main supply! GOD!

God has equipped us for his purpose. We are ambassadors of his love, grace and power in this world! Get your foundation centered by studying the scriptures that will empower you!

Today’s Dare: Meditate on the scriptures provided at the beginning on this blog. Think of what power is in the natural realm and then realize that God’s power is bigger and grander than any power we can imagine! If necessary, go into a dark room and sit for a couple of seconds, then turn on the light…feel the difference? Dare to take the light with you everywhere you go today.  Become a power source for those who need it!

Prayer: Lord please help me to remember that your power, mighty in strength, lives within me. Remind me to live in that power as an overcommer in hard places in life. Let the truth of your power allow me to take faith risks each day…risking to love, to forgive,  to do the right thinks and to risk to share the gospel with others!

Believe in the POWER that God has placed within you!

Stephanie

Day 6: Dare to Renew Your Mind Through God’s Word

ed7c8207506728d54f23a668d96e723d

The Samaritan woman at the well was tired! She was used up and getting by. Many of us know exactly how that feels!

Many times we feel used up by work, by people, by family…wooooooooooo as my girlfriend likes to say. Too many hats of responsibility. Too many folks with too many emotions and too many sides of people to deal with on a regular basis!

Even after we become saved the struggle of dealing with folks does not become easier. We change our lives, become church goers, go to bible studies… we look different on the outside…but are we truly different on the inside? Cleaning up our lives is just an external fix to an internal situation. To be truly fixed, we must work on our internal fixtures, the processing station of our body must be transformed…our mind!

What we think, becomes a belief and rules our life! So daily we have to renew our mind through the reading and studying of  Gods word.

Our power of choice over rules everything. I often say, people make time to do what they want to do. Therefore what’s important to you becomes a priority. We are quick to say “my children come first, or  my  mother is my heart etc” therefore we drop everything in regards to them…if something happens…we run to  their rescue! How often do we view the time we spend with God as a priority in our lives?

In order for us to be changed and made new, a transformation must take place. God allows u turns and its never to late. Renewing our mind through daily reading of God’s word is important. How can we pull something from our belly, when we are empty? You can not utilize Gods word , if you don’t have any in you to use!

Today’s Dare: Think on these scriptures

Matthew 4:4

John 8:31-32

Hebrews 4:12

Psalm 119:9

Ask yourself what are your REAL values. Examine your heart and see where your priorities lie.

Prayer: Father show me my priorites! Renew me, restore me and turn my life around..face to face, heart to heart…yours and only yours!

Make time for God, he is waiting!

Stephanie
